Terms of Service

Effective date: [Month Day, 2026]

  1. Agreement These Terms are an agreement between you and The GenX Table, a sole proprietorship owned by Justine Brashear in Lodi, California ("we," "us"). By applying, buying a ticket, or attending an event, you agree to these Terms, our Code of Conduct, and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not apply or attend.
  2. Who can apply To apply and attend, you must: • Have been born between 1965 and 1980 • Live in California's Central Valley [or list counties served] • Be single: not married and not in a relationship. Legally separated applicants living apart from their spouse, or those with a divorce in progress, may be considered case by case. • Be seeking to date. Our mixers are not intended for friendship only. • Have no convictions for violent, sexual, domestic-violence, or stalking offenses, not appear on any sex-offender registry, and not be subject to an active restraining order • Give truthful, complete information
  3. Application and vetting Every guest is vetted before attending. By applying, you authorize us to: • Verify your identity on a live video call, where you show a government-issued photo ID to the camera • Search public records, including California's Megan's Law registry, court case indexes, inmate locators, news, and public social media • Re-run registry and court checks every 6 months while you remain an active guest We are not a consumer reporting agency and do not use background-check companies. Our checks rely on public sources and cannot catch everything. Approval is at our sole discretion and is not guaranteed. We may decline any application without giving a reason, but we will never decline anyone based on race, religion, national origin, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law. We aim to send a decision within 7 business days. Applications received less than 14 days before a mixer roll to the next one. If we learn that information you provided is false, you will be removed without a refund.
  4. Fees and payment • Application fee: $50, one time. It pays for the time spent reviewing your application, checking public records, and conducting your screening interview. If you are approved, it includes your seat at your first mixer. • Mixer tickets: $25 each for later mixers. Your food and drinks are paid directly to the venue and are not included. • Premium experiences may be offered from time to time at a separate price, with their own terms stated at purchase. Prices are in U.S. dollars and may change. The price shown when you pay is the price you pay.
  5. Your right to cancel your application NOTICE OF CANCELLATION. You, the buyer, may cancel this agreement, without any penalty or obligation, at any time prior to midnight of the third business day following the date of this agreement, excluding Sundays and holidays. To cancel, email cancel@thegenxtable.com, or mail or deliver a signed and dated notice stating that you are canceling this agreement, or words of similar effect, to: The GenX Table, [mailing address], Lodi, CA [ZIP]. If you cancel in time, we will refund your full $50 within 10 days of receiving your notice. We do not begin reviewing your application until this window closes. After that, the application fee is non-refundable, whether or not you are approved. Death, disability, or relocation. If you die or become disabled and cannot use services you paid for, or if you move more than 50 miles from our event area, you or your estate may cancel and receive a refund for any unused services (such as an unused first-mixer seat or prepaid tickets), less a prorated amount for services already provided.
  6. Tickets, cancellations, and event changes To cancel a ticket or your application, email cancel@thegenxtable.com. The time your email arrives determines your refund or credit. • If you cancel a $25 mixer ticket at least 48 hours before the event, you get a full refund. If you cancel at least 24 hours before, you get a $25 credit toward a future mixer. Cancellations within 24 hours of the event and no-shows receive no refund or credit. Credits are courtesy credits issued at no additional charge, can be used only for a future mixer, have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and expire 6 months from the date issued. • An unused first-mixer seat included with your application fee may be moved to a later mixer once if you cancel at least 24 hours ahead. • If we cancel or reschedule an event, you may choose a full refund of that ticket or a seat at another mixer by replying within 7 days of our notice. If you don't respond within 7 days, we will issue a full refund. • Premium experiences may have different cancellation terms, which will be shown at purchase. Mixer format and table balance. Guests are generally seated at tables of about six, and we group and balance tables using our own judgment. We may change a mixer's date, time, venue, table size, or format, or reschedule a mixer that doesn't have enough guests to seat a balanced table (the event-change terms above apply). Approval doesn't guarantee a seat at a particular mixer. If a mixer fills, or one group fills first, we'll offer you a seat at a future mixer, and a first-mixer seat included with your application fee stays included. Event details. We share the venue the day before each mixer. Please keep the venue and guest details confidential.
  7. Code of Conduct You agree to follow our Code of Conduct at every event and in any contact with guests you meet through us. In short: be respectful, honest, and sober enough to be in control; take no for an answer; and never harass, threaten, or pressure anyone. Don't photograph or record other guests without their consent, and don't use events to sell products, services, or recruit for businesses. Other guests' information. If you receive a tablemate introduction, use it only to prepare for that mixer. Don't search for, contact, or share information about other guests outside the event, except through an introduction we make. Misusing another guest's information is a violation of these Terms. We may remove you from an event or ban you from future events, without a refund, if we believe you violated these Terms or the Code of Conduct, or put anyone's safety or comfort at risk. We review every guest complaint.
  8. Your safety is your responsibility Vetting lowers risk but cannot eliminate it. We cannot guarantee the identity, intentions, honesty, or behavior of any guest, and we do not supervise what happens after an event or between guests. • Meet new people in public places, arrange your own transportation, and tell a friend your plans. • Drink responsibly. You are responsible for what you consume and for getting home safely. • Report any concern to hello@thegenxtable.com. In an emergency, call 911 first. By attending, you voluntarily accept the risks of meeting new people and of attending social events at third-party venues.
  9. Venues Events are held at independent restaurants, wineries, and other venues that we do not own or control. Your purchases there are between you and the venue. We are not responsible for a venue's food, service, premises, or policies. You're responsible for everything you order at a venue, including food, drinks, taxes, and any gratuity the venue adds for groups. Each guest pays the venue directly on a separate check, and drinks from the bar should be paid before we're seated. We aren't responsible for venue pricing, service charges, or billing errors.
  10. No guarantee of results We curate groups with care, but we do not promise that you will meet a match, go on a date, or form a relationship. Matchmaking and membership are not offered yet. If and when they launch, they will come with their own terms. Post-event connections. After a mixer, we may send you a private survey asking whether you'd like to see any of your tablemates again. We share contact information only when two guests both say yes, and only the details each person chose to share. Any contact or meeting after an introduction is solely between you and the other person, and Section 8 (Your safety is your responsibility) applies.
  11. Limitation of liability To the fullest extent allowed by law, The GenX Table and its owner are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any harm arising from the conduct of any guest or venue, whether at an event or afterward. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under California law, including for gross negligence or willful misconduct.
  12. Indemnity You agree to cover any claims, losses, or costs (including reasonable attorney fees) that arise from your conduct at or after an event, your violation of these Terms, or false information you gave us.
  13. Our website and content Our website, name, logo, and content belong to us. You may not copy or use them commercially without permission. Photos from events are taken only with guests' consent.
  14. Disputes and governing law These Terms are governed by California law. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any issue informally within 30 days. If we can't, disputes will be handled in the state courts of San Joaquin County, California, or in small claims court where eligible. [Attorney to advise whether to add binding arbitration and a class-action waiver.]
  15. Changes to these Terms We may update these Terms. Changes apply to future applications, tickets, and events, and we will post the new version with a new effective date. Your rights under a purchase already made will not be reduced.
  16. General If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. These Terms, the Code of Conduct, the Refund Policy, and the Privacy Policy are the full agreement between us. If they conflict, these Terms control.
