  1. Who we are The GenX Table ("The GenX Table," "we," "us") is a sole proprietorship owned by Justine Brashear and based in Lodi, California. We host vetted in-person mixers for GenX singles in California's Central Valley. This policy explains what personal information we collect through thegenxtable.com, our application, our screening process, and our events, and how we use and protect it.   2. Information we collect Information you give us on your application • Full legal name and any other names you have used • Birth year (not your full date of birth), city of residence, and ZIP code • Email address and phone number • California counties you have lived in over the last 7 years • Relationship status, how long you have been single, and which relationship statuses you are open to meeting • Dating preferences used to group guests, including age range, relationship goals, the gender(s) you want to meet, and political alignment • Social media handles, if you choose to share them • Your answers to our application questions and your signed attestation Information from our screening • ID check: During your screening video call, you hold a government-issued photo ID up to the camera so we can confirm your name, photo, and date of birth. We do not photograph, screenshot, record, copy, or store your ID or its number. • Public-record checks: We search free public sources, including California's Megan's Law registry, California Superior Court case indexes, the CDCR and federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locators, news results, and public social media. We note only which checks were completed and whether you passed. We do not keep copies of the records themselves. • Call notes: Brief notes from your screening conversation. We do not record screening calls. • Decision: The date you were approved or declined. Information from events • Ticket purchases, attendance, and your table assignment • A fun fact you choose to share with your tablemates (optional) • Your responses to our post-event surveys, including feedback about the evening, reports of conduct concerns, whether you'd like to see any of your tablemates again, and the contact information you choose to share if the interest is mutual Payment information Payments are processed by our website and payment providers ([Squarespace Commerce / Stripe / PayPal — confirm]). We receive confirmation of your payment and limited details such as the last four digits of your card. We never see or store your full card number. Information collected automatically When you visit our website, our website host (Squarespace) uses cookies and similar technologies to collect standard data such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and referring site. We use this in aggregate to understand site traffic. [PLANNED — FOR ATTORNEY REVIEW: We plan to run Meta (Facebook/Instagram) ads and install the Meta Pixel on our website to measure and target those campaigns. Please advise on the required disclosure here, including how to handle pixel data from the application and other pages that could reveal sensitive information.]
  3. Sensitive information Some of what we collect is considered sensitive under California law, including information that may reveal your sexual orientation (through who you want to meet), your political views, and details confirmed from your government ID. We collect this only because it is necessary to vet guests and group them well. We use it only for those purposes, never to infer anything else about you, and we never sell or share it for advertising.
  4. How we use your information • Review your application and decide whether to offer you a seat • Verify your identity and check public records for safety • Group guests thoughtfully for each mixer and keep tables as balanced as we can • Process payments, refunds, and cancellations • Send you event details, confirmations, and service updates, including the venue the day before a mixer and, if you opted in, your tablemate introduction the morning of • Introduce you to another guest when you both tell us in our post-event survey that you'd like to see each other again • Re-check approved guests against the Megan's Law registry and court records every 6 months • Respond to feedback, improve future mixers, and investigate conduct complaints • Invite you to future offerings, such as matchmaking, if you requested early access (you can opt out anytime) • Comply with the law and protect the safety of our guests
  5. How we share your information We do not sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising. We share it only as follows: • With other guests at your mixer: your preferred first name on your name tag. If you opt in on your application, we also email your preferred first name and the fun fact you gave us to your tablemates on the morning of the mixer. We never share your last name, photos, contact details, application answers, screening results, or survey answers with other guests. Whether you exchange contact information at an event is up to you. • With a guest you both want to see again: if you and another guest each tell us in our post-event survey that you'd like to see each other again, we share with that person only the contact information you chose to share. If the interest isn't mutual, the other guest is never told. • With venues: the number of guests, and first names only if a venue requires a reservation list. • With service providers who help us run the business, such as our website host and form tool (Squarespace), payment processors, email provider (Google Workspace), video-call platform [Zoom / Google Meet — confirm], and survey tool [Squarespace forms / Google Forms — confirm]. They may use your information only to provide services to us. • For legal and safety reasons: if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is needed to protect someone's safety. • If the business changes hands: in a sale or transfer of The GenX Table, subject to this policy.
  6.   7. How we protect it We store application data in password-protected accounts with two-factor authentication, limit access to the owner, and avoid downloading or printing applicant records. No system is perfectly secure, but we collect as little as possible so there is less to protect. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by California law.
  8. Your choices and California privacy rights As a California resident, you can ask us to: • Know and access the personal information we hold about you • Correct inaccurate information • Delete your information (subject to legal and safety exceptions above) • Limit our use of your sensitive information (we already use it only for vetting and grouping) • Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front. To make a request, email hello@thegenxtable.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will confirm your identity before acting and respond within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights. Shine the Light: We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing. Do Not Track: Our website does not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals. [If you add ad tracking, add: "We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out of sharing."]
  9. Eligibility and children Our services are only for adults born between 1965 and 1980. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
  10. Changes to this policy We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new effective date, and we will email approved guests about material changes.
